A while ago I had to do some pretty strange things when it came to how to make all 404 pages redirection to homepage in WordPress. Since I was running a blog, it used to be that whenever I wanted to change something on the blog, I would redirect the viewer right back to the index page. This made it very easy to keep track of changes on the blog. If you’re not familiar with WordPress, then this can be pretty mind-boggling. This is also used by many blogs. For those of us who use WordPress regularly, however, it can be frustrating when something on the page doesn’t work properly.

We used to have a button on the header that we clicked to go to the index page. Whenever a visitor clicked on this button, we made all the pages within our blog redirection and changed the index page to say Homepage. This was a great way to keep track of changes, but it wasn’t very user-friendly. The problem was that if an individual wanted to go to another page on the site, they had to scroll down to the bottom of the page to see what else had changed.

A while later, we were playing around with the same thing again. Rather than having the entire page redirectioned, we wanted to make just the index page redirectioned. We thought this would be easier for users since they didn’t have to scroll down. That’s exactly what happened. We were able to make all the pages in our blog redirection and the traffic kept coming in.

However, we eventually realized we needed something better. We wanted to be able to make a page where people could go and find what they were looking for. That is exactly what Google provided us with. They created a “home” tab within Google. This tab displayed a list of all the pages that matched a given search term. So if we typed in a search term such as “how to make all 404 pages redirection to homepage in five minutes”, then we would be able to see the different home page links that we could click on.

Now, how to make all 404 pages redirection to homepage in five minutes isn’t quite the same as typing in your own search phrase in the Google bar. Even so, if you do happen to come across an appropriate page within this list, you can take advantage of its listing. In order to do this, however, you need to know how to make use of the Google Webmaster Tools. You will find it under the section entitled “ederating with Google”. Once you have clicked on it, you will be taken to a page where you can find all the different webmaster accounts that Google has.

Now, to make this redirection working exactly as we had envisioned it, we had to make use of the Cascading Style Sheets which are included with every Webmaster account. We used these to add the various home page links that we wanted to. Although this method will work, it does take up quite a bit of time, and that’s why Google Webmaster Tools were introduced.

This tool was created in response to the problem that many webmasters were experiencing when it came to their sites. When they wanted to add new pages to the site, but their site did not have the necessary code to make that possible, there would often be errors and delays. If your site has any of these problems, the best thing that you can do is go ahead and use the Google Webmaster Tools so that you can easily fix the problems that you are experiencing. Once you have done this, you will not have to worry about how to make all 404 pages redirection to homepage in Joomla.

While this method will work for most people, it will not work for everyone. If you are encountering problems, or just do not feel as though you have the knowledge needed to complete this task, you may want to hire a professional to make all the redirection for you. There are plenty of these people that will be happy to help you. Knowing how to make all 404 pages redirection to homepage in Joomla is the one thing that you should know in order to effectively troubleshoot your site.
